About Marie Mills Center
We are a private non-profit agency that has served the intellectually and developmentally disabled in Tillamook since 1969. We are locally controlled and well recognized within Tillamook County. Our agency employs staff members that are trained and experienced in the needs of the intellectually and developmentally disabled. Unlike many similar programs in Oregon, the average tenure of our agency staff approaches 10 years. Marie Mills Center receives oversight from the Tillamook Family Counseling Center and the State of Oregon to assure the quality and safety of services provided.
We are licensed and certified by Services to Seniors and Persons with Disabilities. Agency staff are CPR/First Aid Certified and receive a vigorous screening prior to hire including Criminal History Checks, Drug and Alcohol Screening, Motor Vehicle Record Checks, Pre-Employment Physical Screening, and Background Checks.
Marie Mills Center History
We started in 1969 in a facility at the Port of Tillamook Bay by parents and others who wanted to create meaningful opportunities for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in Tillamook County.
Through this “grass roots” effort, we were among the first of our kind in Oregon. We began by providing only vocational services. By 1978, we began to also provide residential services to individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities.
